EREN MOUNTAIN SKI CENTER

One of the popular centres for local and foreign tourists is the sea, sun, sand, historical and natural sights, Fethiye is now getting ready for winter tourism.

A large part of the construction of the skiing centre at the Eren Mountain has been completed. The work was sped up as 1,5 million YTL was allocated by the Minisitry of Culture and Tourism. A major part of substructure work has been finished at the Skiing Centre at the Eren Mountain, which was started 3 years ago and only the assembly of the tele ski is to be completed



In general Fethiye was at the fore for summer tourism and is now getting ready for winter tourism as well. The Eren Mountain is covered with snow during most of the year and the activities to open in the region up for winter tourism are completed to a great extent.


The Eren Mountain Skiing Centre within the boundaries of the Seki district of Fethiye provides skiing facilities for local and foreign tourists visiting the region. Hüseyin Ünal, the Mayor of Seki stated that the work would be completed in the shortest possible time and the region will be opened up for winter tourism, adding: “Our work is continuing non-stop.” Electricity and water supplies are provided and the construction of the service building is completed with only the tele ski to be installed at the Eren Mountain. The asphalt pavement of the stabilized road is postponed to next year, pending the ground to settle properly. A 3 story building was constructed with facilities for medical care, ticket sales and cafeteria. The landscape is being taken care of and electricity and water supplies are being provided. Furthermore, an allocation of 1.5 million YTL was supplied by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The remaining work will be carried out with this financial source.”  
Burhan Coşkun, the Director of Culture and Tourism Branch Office in Fethiye, made the following comments: “As tourism operators, bureaucrats and politicians in Fethiye, great endeavours are made to extend the tourism season to 12 months. The Eren Mountain Skiing Center will be a great contribution to Fethiye, the region and the whole country. It has significant features compared with other skiing centres. There is a serious lack of skiing centres in the Mediterranean district. The Eren Mountain Skiing Centre will eliminate this shortcoming within the region once the work is completed. It will be a great advantage to extend touristic activities to 12 months in Fethiye.”


Meanwhile, the Eren Mountain Skiing Centre, appearing in the official internet site of the Governorship of Muğla, as well as in various pamphlets and brochures, is already the centre of attraction for local and foreign tourists.
