PADI Open Water Diver Course 4 days
Open
the door to the world of inner space with the PADI Open Water Course.
This is the first step to qualify as a diver. You will learn to dive under the
control of an Instructor following the PADI modular education system, which
includes theory lectures by the comprehensive diver-training manual. Then you
will take practical diving lessons in the sea on our dive boat. Our friendly,
patient, qualified instructors love to teach new divers how to enjoy diving, and
how to be a safe and confident diver. Your confined water sessions will focus on
teaching you the skills you have already discussed during the lesson, including
how to clear your mask of water, equalize your ears and other basics, and then
the fun begins. Once you have obtained proficiency in the basic skills you will
do four open water dives with your instructor, gradually learning to enjoy the
feeling of weightlessness, control your buoyancy and look at loads of cool fish.
After graduate from the course as a qualified Open Water Diver allowing you to
dive worldwide confidently and safely and feel freedom to explore underwater the
locations of your choice, rent and buy dive gear, and of course continue your
education and experience as a diver.
PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course 2 days
Short
on theory and long on fun, the PADI Advanced Open Water Course will open new
diving horizons to all
Two days in duration, Advanced Open Water is the next level in the PADI system
and focuses on exposing you to specialized diving activities not covered in the
Open Water Course, and is a fun and interesting way to gain further underwater
experience while learning about those diving activities that interest you most.
Whatever your goal, be it identifying marine life, recovering lost objects or
simply gaining a higher level of confidence underwater, the Advanced course has
something for you.
Five skills are required for certification, of which two, deep (30 Metres) and
navigation are mandated. The remaining three skills are elective. Choose from
underwater naturalist, search and recovery, boat dive, underwater photographer,
night dive, peak performance buoyancy and multilevel diver. No matter what you
choose, you will be continuing your diving education while having fun as the
Mermaid Diving boat ferries you in comfort to appropriate dive sites for each
dive.
Open Water Diver certification is a prerequisite for Advanced Open Water Diver
Certification.
PADI Rescue Diver Course 3 days
PADI Rescue Divers have proven
their ability to care for both themselves and others in a variety of diving
situations.
This
course provides additional skills to perform dive rescues and deal with diving
emergencies and will also develop your potential as a dive leader. It is the
first step in assisting another diver and is a prerequisite for all PADI
leadership training.
Ever wondered what to do if your buddy has trouble equalizing? How to provide
oxygen to an injured diver? Even how to recover an unconscious diver who has
been separated from the group? The focus is on problem recognition and
prevention. The PADI Rescue Diver Course will teach you all these things and
many more, leaving you with a sense of security as a diver that cannot be
obtained in any other way. In 3 days of training, the course will take you through many possible situations,
from the most basic (assisting a tired diver or one who has panicked at the
surface) to the most complex (recovering an unconscious diver from the bottom
and providing rescue breathing and care while towing them to the boat or shore).
The course culminates in a complete scenario where you are the diver in charge
of an entire rescue operation. The Rescue Course will serve you well even if you are never presented with an
occasion to use the skills you've been taught. It is a must for increased
confidence and proficiency in the water. At Mermaid Diving Club we will also
heighten your awareness of possible injury from local marine life and teach you
the appropriate care for other uncomfortable situations.
Prior to certification you will need proof of CPR training or complete the Medic
First Aid course
PADI Emergency First Response Course 1 day
For divers and non-divers alike,
the PADI Emergency First Response course can be a lifesaver.
This
course covers CPR and First aid training to teach you to respond with the
appropriate kind of care for a wide range of diving and non diving medical
emergencies like an exhaustive list of medical situations including heat
exhaustion, controlling bleeding, and responding to a choking victim, covering
signs and symptoms of each emergency.
The course is held in the classroom and no practical diving is involved and it
is simple to follow without sacrificing thoroughness, and the final exam
presents you with a number of scenarios with which to test your knowledge, so
that you'll be certain of it should you ever need it.

are our specialty! We take great pride in our instructors who all have the
necessary ratings to teach the full spectrum of PADI specialty courses.

certifications expose you to many new exciting skills and environments. Choose
from Night Diver, Search & Recovery Diver, Underwater Navigator, DeepDiver,
Underwater Naturalist, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Boat Dive, Underwater
Photographer or Multi Level Diver.
PADI Underwater Naturalist Program (1 day- 2 dives)
Aside
from just becoming certified to dive, why not learn exactly what it is you are
seeing down there. The PADI Underwater Naturalist Course teaches you how to
identify local marine life and examine the interrelationship between living
things and their environment. Learn how to interact with aquatic life in a safe
and responsible manner. This course includes scuba gear, and two UW Naturalist
boat dives with an instructor.
Deep Diver Specialty Course (2 days- 4 dives)
This
course covers the proper planning, procedures and techniques needed to safely
conduct deep dives. Review the Recreational Dive Planner (dive tables), learn to
make proper safety stops and discuss emergency decompression procedures,
buoyancy considerations, nitrogen narcosis, and more. This course includes scuba
gear and four deep boat dives to 30 metres with an instructor.
PADI Night Diver Specialty Course (2 days- 3 dives)

diving allows divers to witness the many interesting and exciting nocturnal
marine creatures that remain hidden during the day. You're likely to see shrimps,
octopus, sleeping fish, starfish and beautiful corals. This course teaches the

maintenance and usage, special signals and more. The course includes scuba gear,
use of a dive light, and three night dives with an instructor.

using too much effort and oxygen. PADI Underwater Navigator course is to
familiarize divers with the skills, knowledge, planning, organization,
procedures, techniques, problems, hazards and enjoyment of navigating underwater.

and compass navigation. You will develop the ability to perform important skills,
including relocating a submerged object or position from the surface, underwater
map making and application, and practice several navigation patterns The course consists of 2 open water dives in which you will be taught to use
your navigation equipment and the environment for navigating.
Peak Performance Buoyancy (1 day - 2 dives)
The
goal of the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy training is to enhance the student's
buoyancy control abilities through knowledge development and skills practice.
You will learn how to control your buoyancy in order to minimize the efforts and
oxygen usage needed for underwater movement. And you can do a no reference
descent and stop motionless a few metre from the bottom without finning or
sculling with your hands. You will do positioning and distributing weight for
comfort and desired body position, buoyancy check, fine-tuning buoyancy
underwater, streamlining and visualization. The course consists of 2 open water
dives.

Wheel or Dive computers (generally used more than tables), and to ensure that
you know the most up to date recommendations for flying after diving, omitted
decompression and the SAFE diver program. The course will improve your diving
abilities, and provide you with additional diving supervision and experience.
Maximise your bottom time on all dives, while staying within your no-deco limits,
and get the most out of your diving! The course consists of 2 open water dives.
Underwater Photographer (1 day - 2 dives)
Underwater
photography is the perfect way to bring back memories of your underwater
experiences. Best of all, you can then share those experiences with both your
diving and non-diving friends and family. Underwater photographers naturally
develop a better knowledge of underwater life than most divers and tend to
become more observant with practice. Underwater photography is an ideal
companion for the vacationing diver; the lace coral enthusiast or any diver who
wishes to preserve or describe what is seen underwater. If you love telling
people about what diving is all about, then this is for you! The course consists
of 2 open water dives.
